Daphne Lundi is an urban planner, climate policymaker, writer, and artist. She is the Managing Director of Urban Ocean Lab, a national climate policy think tank focused on the future of coastal cities. Previously, Daphne served as Deputy Director at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice, leading a team focused on shaping climate policies related to extreme heat mitigation, open space access, and transportation sustainability.

Beyond policy, Daphne’s work extends into the arts, where she explores the role of craft in storytelling about the built environment and develops arts-based strategies for processing the impacts of climate change. She served as an inaugural Public Scholar at the Moynihan Center at The City College of New York, where she developed a curriculum examining the intersections of science fiction and city planning. She was also a 2024–2025 New City Critics Fellow with The Architectural League of New York and Urban Design Forum.

She holds a B.A. in sociology from Wellesley College, a certificate in material science and engineering from Olin College of Engineering, and an M.S. in community and regional planning from The University of Texas at Austin. She has taught urban planning courses and design studios at Hunter College, The City College of New York, and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. She was a Year 8 member of NEW INC and a Bandung Resident at MoCADA and A4.
